Drakeson's Second Recital
For the reminiscing mom I will be in years to come, Drakeson started studying at Clavier-Werke with Susan Allen in September, and he's already performed in two Clavier-Werke festivals as well as the Romantic & Contemporary Festival. He's finishing level 2A of The Music Tree series and can play ten different 2-octave scales. We practice together every day, and he always gives me hugs and kisses. Drakeson, if you're reading this some day when you're older, you'll never know how proud I am of you.

Sealy with Ông
It's hard to know exactly what to write about this, but we spent the first weekend of April in Sealy losing George's father. We returned a week later with mine. In Sealy, the air is fresher, the skies are clearer, time moves more slowly, and the memories are vivid.

Sherwood Forest Faire III
We all know I shouldn't be going here. I didn't like it the first time, nobody really knows why I went the second time, and I nearly got out of it last night. The Sherwood Forest Faire is a festival for introverts who become extroverts when they think happy thoughts, douse themselves in pixie dust, put on corsets, and display their bosoms in a magical land. On my very best day, I can do none of these things.
We spent the morning with Matt and Malinda, two disappearing teenagers, and Hannah, who is single handedly more entertaining than all 40 stage acts and 130 merchant shops combined. Various highlights of the day included a wedding in the morning, an extravagant Maleficent costume, Strawberry Shortcake and her creepy old lover Uncle Sam, and a lady with a parrot on her shoulder who hated curious children. The groom of said wedding looked exactly as attractive as one might expect such a groom to be, and not one smidgen more.
To be more precise, those were the highlights I recalled. George, upon reflection of the day, fondly remembers the time some mean person dressed himself in a wolf costume and scared our little two-year-old Milli who was dressed up as Red Riding Hood, and he harkens back to the time Drakeson and Hannah ran around the jousting ring obstructing everyone's view while the knight we were told to root for nearly got murdered. He remembers how I got "good morrowed" (and pretended not to hear it), and reminisces on a short interaction with somebody he refers to as the wench lady. This wench lady, for lack of a better term, saw George holding Milli and asked him how much it was for rides. You know. Like a joke. George probably had no expression on his face, and he also probably said nothing. But then later when he thought about it, with the shiniest of twinkles in his eyes, he wished he had put Milli down and picked up the wench lady. And the fact that this is considered a story at all to anybody is the reason I'm the one who keeps the memoirs.
As always, there are the photographs. After all, one must preserve the precious memories that build a life.
