Outgrabe

On National Mad Hatter Day, 10/6, my friend Rebecca Frazier-Smith and I performed Outgrabe, a 7-piece song cycle set to poetry from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There.  My sister compiled a marvelous summary video of all 24 book chapters using 25 film adaptations, which was projected during the show to put the songs in context.

Our tea party began at 6 pm, which is always the Hatter's tea time, and our guests arrived in costume!  We had an Alice, a White Rabbit, a Dodo Bird, a Duchess and Baby, a Mad Hatter, a March Hare, a Dormouse, a Knave of Hearts, two sets of King and Queen of Hearts, a Jabberwocky, a Red Queen, a White Queen, a Tweedle, a Lion, and a Unicorn.

The tea party fare included a home bakes representing each of the performing characters (the Cheshire, the Hatter, and the Queen of Hearts) as well as the quintessential EAT ME cookies.
