I don't want to forget them, so here they are:
1. Carve out the bottom of the pumpkin instead of the top.
(You can either put the candle on the bottom piece or just put the pumpkin over the candle.)
2. Because the stem will be attached, carve the bottom off with the pumpkin on your lap.
3. Draw your design with a red dry erase marker so it will wipe off easily.
4. You can use a soft mallet hammer and cookie cutters to puncture your pumpkin.
5. You can use a hand mixer to pull the stringy parts away from the edges.
6. Sprinkle cinnamon into the top of the pumpkin so it will smell nice.
7. Preserve your freshly cut edges with vaseline.
